GrandPerspective is a small utility application for macOS that graphically shows the disk usage within a file system. It can help you to manage your disk, as you can easily spot which files and folders take up the most space. It uses a so called tree map for visualization. Each file is shown as a rectangle with an area proportional to the file's size. Files in the same folder appear together, but their placement is otherwise arbitrary.

What's New

Version 3.0.0 of GrandPerspective has just been released.

Most notably, this new version includes the ability to quickly refresh a view. This functionality is very similar to re-scan but is much faster; refresh only re-scans the contents of folders that have changed since the previous scan. It also includes various other minor improvements, such as tweaks to filter logic when they are applied to packages and significant updates to the help documentation.

Behind the scenes, the code has undergone some significant refactoring, which is the reason for the major version bump.
