Cook on an Open Fire

One of the joys of life for most men is to cook over an open fire.  Many people that enjoy camping and barbequing love to cook over an open fire mainly because the food tastes so much better than from an oven and secondly, most men like working with fire.

There are many ways to enjoy cooking on an open fire, however the easiest and maybe the most satisfying method is the campfire.  You can easily create a campfire in your backyard or camp site by surrounding an area void of trees and flammable objects with stones, then in the center of your stone ring add branches, twigs and broken logs to create a fire.  Once you have a nice fire going, put your favorite meat on a skewer and stick into the flame for about 10 to 15 minutes or until cooked.  Whether it is chicken, steak, hot dogs or marshmallows, cooking over a campfire is a great way to enjoy an outdoor meal with your friends or family.

Another way to cook over an open fire is to get two cinder blocks, a metal cooking rack and some wood.  Place the metal cooking rack on the two cinder blocks and start a wood fire beneath the rack.  This is the real way to barbeque and whether you spent $100 or $2000 on a brand new barbeque, nothing tastes better than true barbeque over an open wood fire.
