Don’t Annoy Your Web Visitors

If you are a web designer it is important to keep your visitors in mind.  Many people create web pages purely for profit reasons, and there is nothing wrong with that.  However if you choose to monetize your web site, make sure you do not annoy your web visitors or else you can be hurting your own profits.

Many web designers understand that web sites in order to be profitable must give their web visitors value.  Most web visitors enhance their sites by making them visually appealing, offering true content that is helpful and offer a service or product that is fair and a great value.

There are some web designers that try too hard to make a sale. They use black hat tactics such as use pop ups, overload the user with too many flash advertisements, and use mouse traps to make them visiting their site a totally miserable experience.  If you are trying to build a long term business, it is important to respect your visitors.  Don’t try to force them to search your site or read your advertisements.  There aren’t too many customers that will feel willing to make a purchase after being bombarded by pop up ads and flash advertisements.  So remember for a profitable, long term web site, treat your visitors with respect and don’t annoy them.
