As some of you might know Opt In Email is when a visitor to your site has asked to be sent updates on a topic on a regular basis.  This can occur by them visiting your site and offering their email address or signing up for software which includes regular updates automatically.  If you have a list of opt in email addresses and would like to sell your products to these consumers, then writing a great opt in email is important.  Here are some tips on writing an Opt in email that sells.

Make sure you know who your customers are.  If you are writing to customers interested in Crafts don’t try to sell them car stereos or vice versa.  Just like public speaking, it is important to know your audience.

Another great tip is to offer valuable information in each email that is sent.  Don’t just send them an advertisement.  Most people signed up for a reason- to receive valuable information.  So send them an article or news about new products in the market place.

Don’t send too many emails per month.  A good rule of thumb is about twice a month or at most once a week.  Anything more and most consumers will consider your email list spam and will opt out of it.

Another important tip is to always include your contact information and website.  This way your members know that you are a legitimate business.  Following these tips will help you maximize your profits while building a loyal customer base.
